The weather is good today. It is a convenient time to be graduating. Due to my instagram being hacked I lost access to a lot of Grad Day photos. I did Manage to salvage some footage through my family's phones. Being a first-and-a-half generation graduate is as complex as it sounds. But I could not have done it without God and family.
College gave me the opportunity to weigh my health against work ethic. And my health prevails in every situation, except intense stressors. I am a chronic asthmatic - 29 years and going. You cannot imagine the relief I get when someone says 'It's okay to catch your breathe.' Asthma attacks are a intense stressor I continue to face today.
Unlike COVID, Asthma does not have any FDA approved shots and it is a heriditary hurdle
With the pandemic going on, my hope is to achieve better exposure respiratory medical practice. Respiratory hurdles like mine and survivors of long-covid, are always targeted by racial profiles. This a cause I take up in my work because I lost my dad to asthma. He was 31 years old and this is my way of carrying a torch. There would not be a graduation without him. Bless up Pappy.
